Cancer Comedy

Is there such a thing as cancer comedy?  You bet there is!  You can find it in the book, Chemo KateLynn: Humorous Perspectives on Life Before Cancer and After Diagnosis.

Many people might find the term cancer comedy distasteful.  After all, is there anything comedic about cancer?  The truth of the matter is that while there is nothing funny about a diagnosis of cancer, there are funny things that happen to cancer patients as they fight their battle with this disease.  That’s exactly the type of humor that is captured in this book.

Andrea Lynn Katz, the book’s author, knows from what she speaks and writes about cancer.  That’s because she is a cancer survivor.  She created Chemo KateLynn to be her alter ego and messenger.  What’s the message?  That it’s okay to laugh if you have cancer.  If you don’t have cancer but you know someone who does, it’s okay to laugh with that person too.

Cancer comedy permeates every page of this book. It is not limited to humor about the disease or its treatment.  Rather, it contains 23 slices of life – everything from office politics to domestic relations.  Artfully crafted by Brandon Friend, the book’s illustrator, the humor comes alive through the 46 illustrations in the book.

If you are looking to find cancer comedy and bring the gift of laughter to someone fighting this disease, this book makes an ideal gift.
